“Kagurabachi” strongly parallels “Jujutsu Kaisen” with this character

The ongoing “Assassination of the Sword Bearer” story arc in “Kagurabachi” begins with Chihiro wanting to join Kamunabi. Not only that, but Hakuri’s newly awakened power proves extremely useful as Chihiro tries to connect with previous users of the Enchanted Blades (extremely powerful katanas forged by Chihiro Rokuhira) to transport these swords out of Hishaku.

This part introduces Hiruhiko, one of the main members of the Hishaku sorcerer group (a small criminal group composed of elite sorcerers who killed Kunishige and stole six Enchanted Blades). He is a brutal, battle-hungry villain, always seeking the thrill of fighting and slaughter.

“Kagurabachi” Chapter 52 sheds more light on Hiruhiko and his connection with Chihiro, reminding fans of Yuji and Mahito’s relationship in “Jujutsu Kaisen.”

Notably, chapter 52 of “Kagurabachi” ends with Hiruhiko saying that he is the only one who can understand Chihiro, which deeply disturbs Chihiro. Meanwhile, in “Jujutsu Kaisen”, Mahito often talks about how similar he and Yuji are.

Regarding this parallel, a well-known translator of “Kagurabachi” shared: “I’m happy I’m not the only one who sees the resemblance between Hiruhiko and Mahito, especially with their similar faces…”

At the same time, fans have definitely noticed the similarity between the two villains of “Jujutsu Kaisen” and “Kagurabachi”. A fan commented: “Hokazono has completely outdone all the bad guys so far. And Hiruhiko is definitely a parallel to Mahito, I love him!”

I can’t wait for Hiruhiko to arrive!! And I hope people see him as his own character rather than a “reincarnation” of Mahito,” another fan shared.

Someone also commented: “I really like the way Hiruhiko challenges Chihiro. He wants to show Chihiro how similar they are, while Chihiro refuses to consider this possibility. It reminds me a lot of the relationship between Yuji and Mahito.”
