On October 23, the 13-member K-pop group Seventeen announced a surprise partnership with the iconic animated franchise “The Smurfs.”

Peyo Company, the parent company that manages the intellectual property of “The Smurfs,” partnered with HYBE and Pledis Entertainment to create the collaboration. The project will officially launch in November 2025, with fans already buzzing about the unlikely pairing

“The Smurfs” revealed the collaboration through a teaser film that appeared on social media platforms. The promotional video featured silhouettes of “The Smurfs” characters appearing one by one as they played the instrumental version of Seventeen’s hit single “God of Music.” This strategic choice coincides with two significant anniversaries: the 67th anniversary of the “The Smurfs” series and the second anniversary of “God of Music”, the title track of Seventeen’s eleventh mini album. The moment of the announcement did not go unnoticed by fans.
