“K-Pop Demon Hunters” Star Ejae Signs with WME for Worldwide Representation in All Areas

EJAE has signed with WME for worldwide representation in all areas of his music career, the agency announced Wednesday.

The partnership marks a significant milestone for the singer-songwriter who gained international fame through her work on the Netflix animated film “K-Pop Demon Hunters.”

As the singing voice of Rumi, the lead singer of the fictional girl group Huntr/X, EJAE became a central figure in the massive film success. Beyond his vocal contributions, he played an integral role in the composition and development of the soundtrack, co-writing numerous tracks that achieved global chart dominance. Her performance on “Golden” brought the song eight consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the first song by a female K-pop band to reach number one on the US chart.

The achievement has historical significance within the music industry. “Golden” has amassed nearly 850 million streams on Spotify and reached number one on the Billboard Global 200. The song won Best Original Score at the K-World Dream Awards and received a nomination for Song of the Summer at the MTV Video Music Awards. The film’s soundtrack achieved an unprecedented milestone by simultaneously placing four songs in the Billboard Top 10, the first time in the platform’s history.

EJAE’s contributions extend beyond “Golden” to include others exceptional songs from the film. He co-wrote “How It’s Done”, “What It Sounds Like”, “Your Idol” for rival boy group Saja Boys, and “Hunter’s Mantra”, which serves as a crucial instrumental component of the film’s musical narrative.

Before becoming a breakout star with “K-Pop Demon Hunters,” EJAE had established herself as a sought-after singer-songwriter in the K-pop industry. His songwriting credits include work with notable artists such as aespa on “Drama” and “Armageddon,” Red Velvet’s “Psycho,” and collaborations with Le Sserafim, Twice, Taeyeon, NMIXX, and Fifty Fifty. Additionally, she was nominated for Best Original Song in a Video Game at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards in 2022 for “Rebirth” from “League of Legends.”

EJAE recently executed “Golden” live with Huntr/X on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and appeared in a sketch on “Saturday Night Live.” WME representation provides her with global support for her continued solo work and future creative endeavors in the entertainment industry.
