7 of the top 10 were all releases by K-Pop artists!
K-Pop has once again shown its growing influence in the United States, taking seven of the top 10 spots on the year-end list of best-selling CDs for 2024. The ranking, compiled by American music data tracker Light (previously Nielsen Music), cover CD sales between December 29, 2023 and January 2, 2025.
The stars like it Stray Children, ENIPENE, the gates, TXTAND TWICE have proven their immense global popularity, with Stray Kids and ATEEZ having two albums each on the list. These groups continue to solidify their place as some of the best-selling artists in the physical album market, which remains a significant component of K-Pop’s international success.
1. Stray children
Stray Kids led the K-pop charge I EAT, selling an impressive 442,000 copies, making it the second best-selling CD of the year.
Their second voice, JUMPit also had a good performance, reaching 248,000 copies sold.
2. ENIPEN
ENHYPEN ROMANCE: NOT TOLD it secured third place among K-pop albums, selling 363,000 copies.
3. THE DOORS
ATEEZ also had an amazing year, with their two-part series GOLDEN HOUR making the list. Part 1 sold 250,000 units, while Part 2 followed closely with 225,000.
4. TEXT
TXT “minisodo 3: TOMORROW” was another highlight, reaching 240,000 sales.
5. TWICE
Meanwhile, TWICE has completed K-pop’s representation as the only girl group With TE-thwhich sold 174,000 copies.
K-Pop’s dominance in physical album sales reflects the genre’s unique ability to cultivate loyal fanbases that continue to support their favorite artists through tangible purchases.
