DAY6’s agency, JYP Entertainment, supported member Dowoon after a recent controversy.

Fans were enraged by a video of the drummer practicing the instrument while wearing his military uniform.

The controversy was caused in part by political unrest in South Korea over the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeo, who recently called for martial law.

JYPE has since responded to the controversy in a statement, explaining that it firmly supports Dowoon, who is not leaving anytime soon.

“Recently, false information regarding DAY6 member Dowoon has been spread and reproduced indiscriminately. In response, our company intends to take a firm stance against the creation and harmful spread of unfounded rumors about DAY6 and its members.

Even after this warning, if such actions, such as spreading false information, amplifying rumors or reproducing them without basis, continue to harm the honor and dignity of our artists, we will respond with severe legal measures.

We are fully committed to protecting our artists and reiterate that we will take all available legal actions without any leniency or settlement.

We sincerely thank you for always loving and supporting DAY6.
