While these dates may not initially stand out to some, fans of GOT7 they pointed out some coincidences.
GOT7 initially debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2014 where they remained until 2021 with the conclusion of their contracts. Subsequently, Jay B, worked to transfer the group’s trademarks, an unprecedented first in K-Pop. Although there has not been an open discussion about any bad relations between the members and the company, many fans have negative feelings about how the group was treated while under JYP.
GOT7 makes history as all trademark rights would be officially transferred to the seven members
The first coincidence that fans pointed out was that the pre-release was scheduled for January 6, which is Jay B’s birthday. The second is that KickFlip’s debut is set for the same day as GOT7’s long-awaited return , the first in three years.

These details, along with others like the seven-member group and the potential inclusion of martial arts in their release, seemed like unlikely coincidences to fans. Many criticized JYP, rather than KickFlip members, for seemingly “petty” behavior.
Will they also do martial arts since they’re called kick flips and will debut on the same day as your former martial arts group? 😂 https://t.co/8DVgEfhhiO

JYP will indeed debut a new 7-member boygroup on January 20th, GOT7’s comeback. They’re a real joke, lol. I fear GOT7 haunts this company in its sleep. 😆 https://t.co/C7u3YZ5Dtt

Companies are known to sometimes go to great lengths to “punish” their former idols, and it seems like GOT7 fans believe that could happen now.
