On the afternoon of December 5, at the Seoul International Film Festival held at Lotte Hotel Seoul in Sogong-dong, Jung Yu-mi won the Special Acting Award in the OTT category for her role in the original TV series “Queen Woo”.
Immediately after receiving the award, Jung Yu-mi expressed her sincere gratitude and shared her condolences for Song Jae-rim, with whom she had worked. He said, “I feel a little overwhelmed, like I don’t deserve this award. I believe I am accepting this award on behalf of the staff and actors who worked with us on “Queen Woo” and I am truly grateful.
He went on to thank everyone who worked tirelessly from the hot summer to the cold winter, recognizing their hard work and collaboration.
Jung Yu-mi also paid a touching tribute to Song Jae-rim, “I hope he is resting in peace.”
Song Jae-rim died tragically at his home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on November 12. Police confirmed that no foul play or suspected criminality was involved and it was reported that a suicide note was found at his residence.
Born in 1985, Song Jae-rim made his debut in 2009 with the film “Actresses” and gained recognition in 2012 for his role as warrior Kim Je-woon in the MBC drama “Moon Embracing the Sun.”
He went on to star in numerous popular drama series such as “Cool Guys, Hot Ramen”, “Inspiring Generation”, “Two Weeks” and “Our Gap-soon”, winning the love of fans. He has also showcased his talent on the big screen in films like ‘The Suspect’ and ‘Yaksha: Ruthless Operations’.
This year, Song Jae-rim appeared in the TVING original series “Queen Woo,” where he worked alongside Jung Yu-mi, contributing to the success of the show. His latest film, “Crypto Man,” (working title) will be released in January next year.
