On the October 13th episode of Channel A’s Best Friend Documentary: Table for 4, Jung Woong In he appeared as a guest and invited his closest friends, the director Jang Hang June and actress Song Sun Mito join him in a candid conversation.
Jungproud father of three daughters — Se Yoon, So YoonAND From Yoon – expressed joy at how well they have grown. “My daughters all grew up without any major problems. I don’t think they even went through any rebellious phases. I think it’s thanks to their mother’s influence,” he said with a smile.
He also explained why he stopped appearing on variety shows after gaining huge popularity MBC’s dad! Where are we going?. “As the kids got older, they no longer liked being exposed to the public. I didn’t see the need to continue appearing on those shows,” he shared. “Recently, though, there was a program that sent kids on trips together, so I asked if they wanted to make memories — they went to Japan and had a great time.”
Jung he then revealed the reason for his current “two-house” lifestyle. “My second daughter attended Seoul Arts High School. She was commuting from Bundang to Gwanghwamun for middle school, which was really hard for three years. Her high school in Pyeongchang-dong is even further away, and she said she couldn’t stand the distance anymore. My family looked at me, so I decided, ‘I’ll go with her.’ I rented a small house here close and now I live there,” he explained.
He added, “My youngest wanted to stay in Bundang with her friends, so she lives with her mother, while I stay in Pyeongchang-dong with my first and second daughters.”
Jungwho currently takes care of household chores while supporting her children, shared with humor, “Housework is a constant battle with hair. I always make sure the girls get a proper, home-cooked meal. They love it and always compliment my cooking, which makes me happy.”
Reflecting on fatherhood, he said, “Taking care of my children makes me really happy. Being able to do that is a blessing. I just want to make sure I can always support them and feed them three meals a day, even when I get older. That’s what I consider my responsibility as a father.”
As for her daughters’ possible acting careers, Jung he admitted that his perspective has changed over time. “In the past I was against it because it’s a difficult path, but recently my eldest daughter performed in a musical. She seemed to really like it, so I told her to give it a try. My youngest daughter could go that route too: she helped me read the scripts and even highlighted the lines for me. She’s definitely interested.”
