The two once proudly displayed their deep friendship on a variety show, referring to their relationship as having “surpassed common-law marriage.” As the release of Netflix’s “Squid Game 2” approaches, many are curious to know if their friendship will remain unchanged.
On the August 7, 2022 episode of SBS’s “Master in the House”, Jung Woo-sung discussed his 24-year friendship with Lee Jung-jae. When Lee Seung-gi asked “Isn’t a 24 year relationship basically a common law marriage?“, Jung Woo-sung jokingly replied, “It goes beyond a common law marriage.”
The two are famously nicknamed the “Cheongdam Couple” due to their strong bond.
When Lee Seung-gi asked if they were aware of the nickname, Jung Woo-sung admitted, “At some point, people started calling us that.” Lee Jung-jae nodded and laughed in agreement. When others jokingly referred to Jung Woo-sung as “Dad” and Lee Jung-jae as “Mom,” they both burst out laughing.
Lee Jung-jae has been in a public relationship with Im Se-ryung, vice president of Daesang Group, since news of their dating broke in January 2015. Reports also surfaced about Jung Woo-sung and Lee Jung-jae having double dates with their respective partners.
