According to the film industry, Jung Woo-sung initially intended to attend the 45th Blue Dragon Film Awards on November 29, despite the controversy, but ultimately decided to withdraw after further discussions.
Jung Woo-sung was nominated for Best Actor for his role in the hit film Spring in Seoul at the ceremony, which will be held at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. Known for his deep connection to the Blue Dragon Film Awards, Jung Woo-sung initially planned to attend despite allegations about an extramarital child. However, the continued scrutiny of his personal life on November 25 reportedly led him to change his decision.
Previously, Jung Woo-sung admitted to becoming a father, but clarified that he was not in a marital relationship with the child’s mother, Moon Ga-bi. Public opinion remains divided and further reports of his long-term relationship with a non-famous woman have emerged, further fueling speculation and rumours. Faced with the escalation of the situation, Jung Woo-sung chose to remain silent and avoid public appearances.
His agency confirmed his withdrawal from the event, stating: “It is true that he has expressed his intention not to participate, but discussions are still ongoing.” The agency also declined to comment on personnel disputes, adding: “We have no official statement regarding Jung Woo-sung’s private life.”
