Jung Woo Sung asks for understanding for personal questions at the “Made in Korea” press event.

On the morning of December 15, a production presentation of the Disney+ original series Made in Korea was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Gangnam. The event was attended by actors Hyun Bin, Jung Woo Sung, Woo Do Hwan, Seo Eun Soo, Won Ji An, Jung Sung Il, Kang Gil Woo, Roh Jae Won, Park Yong Woo, along with director Woo Min Ho.

During the press conference, Jung Woo Sung was asked if recent changes in his family life – including controversies over extramarital children and marriage – had caused difficulties during filming. Responding cautiously, he said, “I want this project to be approached as a fun job. I understand the nature of the question, but since today is an event where many Made in Korea actors have gathered, I ask you to understand that I cannot go into details about my personal changes.”

When a similar question was asked of Jung Sung Il, he shifted attention to the project itself. “Everyone here, the director, the staff and the actors, worked with great passion,” he said. “There’s no doubt about it. We just did our best this series and there were no problems.”

Made in Korea is set in the turbulent but ambitious 1970s, a time when South Korea was facing both chaos and rapid growth. The series follows Baek Ki Tae (played by Hyun Bin), a man who seeks wealth and power by turning the nation itself into a business model, and prosecutor Jang Geon Young (played by Jung Woo Sung), who relentlessly pursues him with unwavering determination. Their clash unfolds across massive, era-defining, time-spanning events.

Made in Korea will premiere on Disney+ on December 24.
