On September 15, before episode 10, tvN’s weekend drama “Love Next Door” (directed by Yoo Je-won, written by Shin Ha-eun, produced by Studio Dragon and The Modori) released a still of Choi Seung-hyo (played by Jung Hae-in) and Bae Seok-ryu (played by Jung So-min) meeting by the sea, where they are confronted with an incredible and unspeakable secret.
In the previous episode, Bae Seok-ryu’s hidden past was revealed. After being diagnosed with cancer, she underwent surgery and treatment, but also suffered from depression, which forced her to quit her job and break off her engagement. Her painful story aroused compassion. Bae Seok-ryu, still burdened by her unresolved wounds, rejected both Choi Seung-hyo’s confession and Song Hyun-jun’s (played by Han Joon-woo) proposal. However, after accidentally discovering her hospital diagnosis, Choi Seung-hyo learns about her battle with cancer, bringing a new development to their relationship.
The newly released photos show Bae Seok-ryu, who went to the beach alone, just like she did in school, and Choi Seung-hyo, who seems to have come looking for her. Most of all, the image of the two of them soaked in sea water, exchanging words full of resentment and anger, draws attention. Even after Choi Seung-hyo discovers the secret, Bae Seok-ryu forces a smile, even though he seems on the verge of tears. In episode 10, airing today (15), the story of Hye-ryeong-dong’s family and friends will unfold as they learn Bae Seok-ryu’s secret. Each will express their love and regret for Bae Seok-ryu in their own way, after he endured such cold and painful times alone, much like the freezing Siberian winds. However, they will share warm comfort together again, providing an emotional and touching experience.
The production team of “Love Next Door” shared: “As Bae Seok-ryu’s secret is revealed, another significant change occurs. It will feature Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu’s bad timing and inability to be honest and brave with each other.
