Julian Cheung recently made fans laugh with his candid confession on the Chinese variety show Hello Saturday.
When asked about his relationship with his wife Anita Yuen, the 53-year-old Hong Kong star smiled and said: “No one can beat me when it comes to being afraid of my wife!”
He continued, “If he starts counting one, two, three, I usually open the door when he gets to one!”
Julian Cheung jokingly described Anita Yuen’s household management style as “military-grade precision,” adding that he has long accepted her as the real boss at home.
Despite his light-hearted remarks, Julian Cheung and Anita Yuen remain one of Hong Kong’s most beloved and enduring celebrity couples.
The actor has often said that his biggest concern is “Anita doesn’t have enough money to spend.” Knowing her love for shopping, he however never stops her, rejoices in her happiness.
Even when it’s a fellow actor Dicky Cheung he once teased him, saying that “he did a good deed for the world by marrying Anita Yuen,” Julian Cheung he simply smiled, showing his silent devotion through actions rather than words.
Julian he also revealed that their relationship is not without its disagreements. Last year, the couple clashed over how their son should handle his internship. Anita preferred him to focus on his studies first, while Julian encouraged real-world experience.
In the end, they chose to respect their son’s decision and learn to see things from the other’s point of view.
Julian Cheung and Anita Yuen have been together since 1998, but he has never minded being labeled a “husband who fears his wife.” Instead, she proudly hugs him, explaining: “When you truly care about someone, you stop arguing about who is right or who is wrong.”
