BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is back in the studio and fully immersed in music, preparing both the group’s next album and its solo follow-up, following the success of her debut full-length, Amortage. The singer shared with GQ Korea that she was completely absorbed in the creative process, describing her final days as “living fully in music.”
“Excited? I can’t help it: I really feel that way. Right now I’m preparing both BLACKPINK’s new album and my solo album. During the process of gathering ideas and creating new music, excitement comes naturally. Lately I really feel like I’m living and immersing myself fully in music,” Jisoo revealed.
This renewed focus on music contrasts with the early part of 2025, when Jisoo was heavily focused on her acting career. Earlier this year, she was praised for her performances in drama and cinematic films, demonstrating her versatility beyond the stage and spotlighting her as one of K-pop’s most talented multi-hyphenates. However, she now shifts her energy back to music, signaling a return to the art that first made her globally recognized.
Amortage, released in 2023, marked Jisoo’s first single under her own label after leaving YG Entertainment and Interscope Records. The extended show showcased her artistic growth as a solo artist, combining emotional vocals with striking visuals, and reached major streaming milestones around the world. It established her as a formidable soloist while maintaining her identity as a key member of BLACKPINK.
Balancing her work with BLACKPINK and shaping her personal musical identity, Jisoo’s current projects reflect her dedication to her art and fans. She describes this period as a phase where ideas flow freely, inspiration is abundant and creativity reaches its peak, a time when she feels most connected to her art. Fans can expect her solo follow-up to build on the success of Amortage, offering new tracks that highlight her evolution, while BLACKPINK’s next album continues the group’s global momentum.
