On October 21, Billboard confirmed that “Eyes closed” debuted at No. 72 on the Hot 100 chart for the week of October 25. The song also landed at No. 20 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 10 on the Global Excl. US chart, signaling his global impact as a solo artist.
Released October 10th, “Eyes closed” features pop star ZAYN, ex One directionwhose collaboration with Jisoo attracted great attention for their vocal synergy and stunning visuals in the music video. The single was hugely successful upon release, topping the YouTube Music Global Trending chart in 74 countries, peaking at No. 21 on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart, and reaching No. 1 on iTunes in 40 countries. In China, it led the daily sales charts of QQ Music and KuGou. Jisoo also achieved a record by surpassing 1 billion solo streams on Spotify in the shortest time ever for a K-pop soloist.
What makes this achievement even more notable is that all four members of BLACKPINK have now entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart as solo artists. Jennie with “One of the girls” AND “Mantras“, rosé with “On the ground” AND “APP.“, Lisa with”LALISA” AND “Born again“, and now Jisoo with”Eyes closed.” Their collective solo success solidifies BLACKPINK’s unique position in the global music scene.
Since debuting in 2016, BLACKPINK has released numerous chart-topping hits such as “Lovesick girls“,”Stop“,”As if it were the last“, AND “Playing with fire.” Each member has since branched out with solo projects that highlight their individuality while continuing to build the group’s international legacy.
