On October 11, JTBC’s news program “Crime Chief” aired a report from a fan who claimed he was attacked by Jessi’s entourage after asking for a photo.
The incident occurred on the 29th of last month when a longtime fan of Jessi saw her in an alley and politely asked for a photo. Jessi refused, “I am sorry,” and the fan took a step back. However, a man from Jessi’s group allegedly blocked the fan, shouting insults, while another man suddenly punched the fan in the face.
The victim reported that the attack was unexpected and that they could not escape out of fear. Although Jessi initially appeared to intervene, she ultimately left the scene, resulting in fans’ disappointment.
After the incident, the victim reported the incident to the police, but Jessi and her group had already left. The victim and police searched for nearly an hour before finding Jessi in a nearby bar, but the attacker was absent. When questioned, Jessi and her agency denied any connection to the attacker, saying he was an unknown individual.
Jessi’s agency later clarified that the attacker was just a friend of a producer and had no connection to Jessi. They said they would consider ethical compensation if a relationship with the victim was acknowledged.
The victim claims that the attacker was a foreigner of Chinese nationality. After the incident, the victim’s mother went to Jessi’s agency to file a complaint, but the agency denied any connection and provided no further response. The victim expressed frustration with the lack of clear answers from both the police and the agency.
The police intend to question the producer linked to Jessi to identify the attacker. Jessi’s agency said the attacker must be punished and pledged to cooperate with the police.
The victim is currently experiencing significant emotional distress and is hoping for the attacker’s quick arrest. Active measures are needed from both the police and the agency to find out the truth. Jessi’s agency is also evaluating ethical solutions through dialogue with the victim, making the outcome of the investigation a point of interest.
