Jessi leaves DOD and issues new apology

Jessi recently made headlines after parting ways with her agency DOD Entertainment following an accident involving a minor fan. The rapper has since issued a new apology for the fan assault incident.

DOD Entertainment confirms Jessi’s departure

The situation that occurred on September 29 in Gangnam, Seoulexplained when an underage fan, referred to as “A,” approached Jessi, asking for a photo. Reports indicate so a person accompanying Jessi verbally abused and physically assaulted the young fan. Although Jessi intervened to stop the accident, she soon left the scene. FHe later publicly stated that he did not know the person who committed the attack.

Following the incident, the victim filed legal complaints against everyone involved, including Jessi. Gangnam Police Station summoned her for questioning as a suspect in connection with the attack. The interrogation took place on October 16 and the ongoing investigation appears to be gathering further information about the incident.

Two days later, on October 18, Jessi’s agency, DOD, released a statement confirming they had terminated their exclusive contract with her, ending their partnership.

“After extensive discussions on its future activities, we have decided to terminate our exclusive contract with Jessi effective October 18, 2024at your request and after careful consideration,” the statement read.

Jessi’s second apology

Shortly thereafter, Jessi issued another public apology, acknowledging the incident and expressing regret over the situation.

“Even though I caused this situation, my inappropriate behavior, attitude and failure to respond harmed many, including the victim. I made them feel betrayed and angry“he wrote.

“I regretted it tens of thousands of times. I wish I could go back in time,” Jessi added. “If I had taken a photo with the victim, if I had done more to protect him, if I had gone directly to the police or offered an appropriate apology, the victim would not have suffered so much. I take full responsibility for it.”

“I know I cannot be forgiven with these words alone. However, I am committed to correcting my mistakes and helping the victim recover, even if it is late“, concluded Jessi.

As the investigation continues, this departure marks a difficult time for the artist.
