Soloist Jessi has been under fire since a teenage fan accused her of a lack of responsibility for her friends’ actions.
The young fan had been attacked by someone who had been with Jessi and her friends. Jessi was seen leaving the scene as the fight escalated.
Jessi initially claimed in a now-deleted post that she had just met the person who attacked her fan. She said she had been in contact with the victim’s family, but still felt a sense of responsibility for the situation.

First of all, I sincerely apologize to anyone who may have been upset by the news regarding the recent assault incident involving me.
While I was attending a meeting with personal acquaintances, one of my fans, who became the victim, approached me to ask for a photo. Since it was late at night, I politely refused twice and at that time an incident occurred where the fan was suddenly attacked by someone I had met for the first time that day. The situation escalated so quickly that I too was caught by surprise and unable to properly handle the situation or care for the fan with care.
I am deeply sorry that my fan had to be harmed in such an unfair way and I feel a great sense of responsibility for my failure to intervene appropriately. Since the incident, both my agency and I have remained in contact with the victim’s family and are working hard to help the victim find and bring the perpetrator to justice so that he can receive an apology and compensation, and so the perpetrator of the crime is held accountable and appropriately punished.
I kindly ask that you refrain from spreading unverified claims or speculative reports regarding this incident, as it may cause further harm.

Some believe that he should not have left the scene or that he could have tried more actively to stop his acquaintances. A lot has happened in such a short time, as Jessi parted ways with her agency almost immediately after the controversy broke out and faced questioning over the identity of the attacker.

Now, Jessi has released a new statement regarding the controversy. She apologized via Instagram to the victim and her family. He expressed his regret for how he handled the situation.
First of all, I would like to express my apologies to the victim and his family who have suffered harm as a result of this incident.
Even though the accident was not caused by me, I have hurt many people, including the victim, with my wrong actions, attitude and lack of response from the time the accident occurred until now and I made them feel betrayed and angry.
I regret it a thousand times, ten thousand times. I wish I could go back to that time. If I had taken a photo with the victim, if I had been more proactive in protecting him, if I had gone to the police station immediately, if I had given a proper apology, the victim would not have suffered like this. All of this is my responsibility.
I know I can’t be forgiven with just one word. However, I will try to correct my mistake and help the victim recover.
