Jeon So Min on life after leaving Running Man: ‘I was working in a bar, the future seemed uncertain’

On December 13th, a video with Jeon So Min and her I’m sorry, I’m not sorry co-star Choi Daniel was released on The Jiseokjin world YouTube channel. During the video, Jeon So Min shared heartfelt updates on her post-lifeRunning Man.

Ji Suk Jin, surprised by Jeon So Min’s appearance, commented, “You lost weight! Has someone disturbed you? Tell me and I’ll take care of it.” At this, Jeon So Min laughed and replied, “I lost a little weight, but it was intentional.” The two revealed that they hadn’t seen each other for about a year, although they spoke on the phone every now and then.

Ji Suk Jin continued to compliment Jeon So Min, saying: “You’ve gotten prettier. Your skin is glowing.” Jeon So Min jokingly admitted, “I often go to the dermatologist.”

When Ji Suk Jin talked about his departure from Running Manhe said, “After So Min left Running Man…” Jeon So Min chimed in, suggesting: “How about instead of saying I graduated?” However, Ji Suk Jin disagrees, saying: “Graduate? There’s no way. You left. You made your intentions clear, and even though we supported you, we tried to convince you to stay. But you wouldn’t budge.”

Reflecting on her departure, Jeon So Min admitted, “The atmosphere of Running Man has improved and the average age of the cast has decreased.” Ji Suk Jin jokingly asked: “Do you regret leaving? The world outside is harsh, isn’t it?” At this, Jeon So Min laughed and replied, “It’s a little tough out there.”

Ji Suk Jin also asked her how she felt after leaving the show. Jeon So Min confessed: “Since leaving Running Man, my standards for humor have become too high. No matter how funny something is, I find myself thinking, “Why is this funny?” Over the past year, I have rarely laughed as hard as I used to.”

He also shared his concerns during the transition, saying: “I started filming earlier than I expected after leaving Running Man. About three or four months later, I worked on a movie, filmed two single-episode dramas, and then started Sorry Not Sorry. But honestly I was very worried. I couldn’t see what my future would look like and I had nothing planned. I had recently moved, which was financially taxing, and the industry was tough at the time. I also worked part-time in a bar owned by an old acquaintance…”

Ji Suk Jin, shocked, said, “I couldn’t believe it when I heard that you worked in a bar in Sangam-dong!”

Jeon So Min explained the experience, saying: “Some customers thought it was part of a reality show and asked where the cameras were. I didn’t cover my face at all – it was part of the deal. The cafe owner suggested me not to wear hats or masks to increase sales. My hourly wage was the same as everyone else’s, but they didn’t provide meal allowances. Instead they bought me meals. I felt like I was back to when I was 29 and working in a bar. It reminded me of the days when I dreamed about my future and recharged my energy. In the end it turned out to be a wonderful experience.”

Jeon So Min left Running Man last year after six successful years on the show. His latest drama, I’m sorry, I’m not sorrymarks her return to acting after a year-long hiatus, showcasing her resilience and versatility.
