The chilling messages suggest that a “bird strike,” or an aviation term that refers to a collision between a plane and one or more birds, has occurred. However, nothing has been verified; Authorities at the crash site and other aviation experts are working to confirm the cause of the crash.
Meanwhile, updates from Muan International Airport confirmed at least 62 deaths. A Yonhap a news report has since quoted the Jeonnam Fire Department as saying so “Of the 181 people, 2 were rescued and the majority are presumed dead.”
