On February 5, a video titled “I was invited to the home of 38-year-old kangaroo tribe member Jay Park” was uploaded to Jay Park’s YouTube channel, showing his simple daily life together with his parents.
In the video, when the production team asked, “What moisturizer do you use?”Jay Park paused briefly before immediately shouting, “Mom!” Instead of naming the product himself, he naturally called his mother to check, a moment that drew laughter. When the staff mentioned that Daesung uses a La Mer cream priced at around ₩2.4 million, Jay Park reacted with shock, asking: “Daesung lives in a penthouse?” His mother, standing next to him, summed things up clearly by saying: “The one used by Jaebeom (Jay Park) costs ₩33,900,” making the atmosphere even more cheerful.

Jay Park, known for his “honey skin” since his early debut days, smiled as he revealed the secret behind it, saying: “I just apply what my mother tells me.” He added, “Now I know what goal I should live for” and when the production team jokingly asked, “Is your goal to use a ₩3 million cream?”he nodded, causing another laugh. Then he joked, “I guess I should stop buying you meals. Let’s go to a snack shop instead of our usual barbecue,” leaving the production team flustered and amused.
The video also showed the daily life of a member of the kangaroo tribe, a term used to describe adults who continue to live with their parents. Jay Park said his mother often nags him to throw away his clothes, and added that his dog Oscar is also looked after more carefully by his parents. Pointing to a table full of homemade dishes, he said: “This is the advantage” but he added, “The downside is I can’t buy a penthouse.”

Viewers responded with comments like: “He’s completely in son mode at home, despite his image,” AND “He may have been born with beautiful skin, but his skincare routine is very realistic.” Jay Park currently appears as a producer on Mnet’s hip-hop survival show Show me the money 12which airs every Thursday at 9.20pm on Mnet and TVING. Through the revelation of his daily life, so different from his charismatic stage persona, he continues to show another side of his charm.
