In January, Jay Park submitted a request to the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, the San Jose division, asking Google to reveal the identity of a YouTuber.
The part of Jay Park states that the operator of the Cyberwrecker channel “BBR Detective Agency” (called “A”) has released false items that accuse Jay Park of drugs of drugs, engaging in illegal cryptocurrency relationships and having ties with triad Chinese. An affirm that “Koala”, known for being an acquaintance of the singer Jessi, is a member of the Chinese triad and provides drugs to the hip-hop scene. A released movie showing Koala inside More Vision, the Jay Park company founded, as well as the images of Jay Park together with Koala, underlining their connection.
In another video, one hypothesized that Jay Park was involved in the illegal cryptocurrency trade, stating: “At “Rolling Loud 2023 Thailandia Okx Stage”, the main Korean artists were Jay Park and Jessi. Okx is an exchange of cryptocurrency.“
These posts and YouTube shorts have accumulated millions of views and thousands of comments. In response, Jay Park officially caused at the beginning of December 2024 at the Central District Seoul Court. However, since the mother society of YouTube Google is based in the United States, it was impossible to verify the identity of A in Korea, pushing Jay Park to present a request for discovery in the United States Court.
Jay Park requested information on behalf of A, date of birth, genre, telephone number, address, access IP record and payment details connected to your Google account. The San Jose court assigned the case to the judge Eumi K. Lee for the review.
