On September 5, Jang Geun-suk spoke to fans live on his channel. In a video titled “Real Home Live,” Jang Geun-suk hosted the live broadcast from his real bedroom.
Having a pet cat named ‘Jang-go’ (a nickname derived from Jang Geun-suk’s name), Jang Geun-suk said, “Lately, people have been saying that I look a lot like Jang-go. Do I really look like him?” and jokingly compared her expressions to those of his pet cat.
Answering fans’ questions live, Jang Geun-suk shared: “My MBTI was ENFP, but as I got older I became an ENTJ. I get irritated by unplanned things when I travel. Now I’m a J.”
When asked if he thinks he will ever get married, Jang Geun-suk replied bluntly, “You think I can’t do it? I’ll take care of it myself,” and then he joked, “Nowadays, when I meet people, they often ask me, ‘Are you okay?’ And I say, ‘I met you because I’m okay.'”
On mental management, he explained, “I do a little bit of self-gaslighting to let positive thinking dominate my brain. In this way, I transform myself into a positive person. For example, after completing ten levels of ‘Super Mario,’ when the eleventh level comes out, it can cause a mental breakdown. However, after completing the eleventh level, I feel good about having completed it. That moment seems more important.”
Jang Geun-suk said he recently traveled to Japan with actor Ha Seok-jin and interior designer Lim Seong-bin. He said, “We are united because we are former students of Hanyang University. It was the most fun trip I have ever had in my life. We played without thinking, just like in college. It was so much fun even just sleeping in a room with three beds.”
He added, “After my thyroid cancer surgery, I’m not the type to travel anymore, but now I understand why people travel. This year I want to take a solo trip.”
Jang Geun-suk attracted attention by revealing that he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in October last year and underwent surgery in May this year. He said: “Actually, when I woke up after being sick, the thought that came to mind was ‘there really isn’t much time.’ Isn’t that ironic? Realizing that there really isn’t as much time as I thought, I’m now going to stop worrying moderately and instead focus on doing what I want to enjoy. I think it’s better to do things and regret them than to hesitate and not do them.”
He advised fans to dive into things rather than worry. He said, “Try it and you will regret it. By the time you want to try, it may already be too late. So, I encourage you. I believe that positive thinking will create a positive you and a positive tomorrow. However, whatever has been troubling you will eventually pass.”
