On December 17, IU was hailed as “Artist of the Year” by Billboard Korea, the solo icon behind the hits “Love Wins All” and “Holssi” released this year.
Notably, the song “Love Wins All”, which featured BTS V in the official music video, rose to No. 1 on major music charts in South Korea, such as MelOn’s Top 100. He also earned 339 Perfect All-Kill (PAK), according to iChart.

In addition to IU’s influence on the music charts, she also led a successful world tour, HEREH, boasting 31 sold-out shows across Asia, Europe and North America. Additionally, IU made history as the first-ever Korean soloist to perform at the Philippine Arena, the world’s largest indoor venue in Manila.
In a interview published by Billboard, the star shared her thoughts on her popularity in the country regardless of age and gender.
“I believe the support I have received reflects an appreciation for my consistent hard work,” he said, adding his reason for having a “more approachable and relatable” aura.
As they delve into her next move as Billboard Korea’s top artist, IU hinted at her plan to work with international artists, something she has refused to do in the past despite various offers she has received.
“The idea of collaborating with artists who spoke different languages seemed daunting. So I turned down those opportunities,” he explained.
“But I don’t feel the same way anymore. Now I’m much more open to the idea of working with global artists.”
