ITZY’s “Gold” Concept Photos Disappoint Fans, Ask JYP to Level Up Members’ “Hemeko”

Before ITZY’s official comeback with “GOLD”, JYP Entertainment was photographed by MIDZY following the group’s disappointing “hemeko” in their concept photos.

Since October 1st, the label has been hinting at the beginning of ITZY’s new musical era by releasing teasers and concept photos for the release of his new mini-album “GOLD” on the 15th.

In the first set of photos, members Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna were seen posing and sitting against a white background. In the second set, the quintet showed off fashionable beauty in front of the city buildings.

Fans can sense ITZY’s signature charisma that captivated the camera in the photos, which also attracted netters in online communities.

However, on Nate Pann, several fans expressed their disappointment after seeing the photos. According to them, the quintet’s hair, makeup and coords (hemeko) were unflattering and significantly degraded the members’ appearance. It’s inconsistent that they feel like they’re not part of the same group.

People argue that if it wasn’t for ITZY’s natural beauty saving the photos, it would be considered one of the worst. An example would be how Yuna rocked her “sea urchin” hair, although many idols often fail to impress with the hairstyle and denim shorts that can make someone look shorter.

Chaeryeong was also praised for standing out among others, so fans call JYP with the desire to give them not only more suitable clothes for each member, but also makeup and hairstyle that will complement each one’s individuality.
