On January 10, digital music platforms such as Melon introduced Song Hye-kyo’s digital single, After loveas the latest addition to their libraries. The album cover, featuring Song Hye-kyo, immediately attracted attention.
After love is a rearranged version of the original song released by Uhm Jung-hwa in 1997. With its heartfelt ’90s lyrics, such as “If you come back to me in your drunken state, what should I do, having already left?” and “Please don’t look at me with those eyes. I can’t stand it. I’m shaken again. Please don’t remember me,” the track combines Song Hye-kyo’s delicate and emotional vocals with the song’s touching theme of heartbreak, adding to its melancholic charm.
The story behind Song Hye-kyo’s decision to perform After love will be revealed on Kang Min-kyung’s YouTube channel, I’m Mingki. Song Hye-kyo recently appeared on the channel together with actress Jeon Yeo-been to promote their new film, Dark Nuns. The first part of the episode will be released on the evening of January 10th, the second part is scheduled for January 16th.
In the meantime, Dark Nuns tells the story of individuals who risk everything to perform a forbidden ritual to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit. Song Hye-kyo plays Sister Junia, willing to use any means necessary to save the boy, while Jeon Yeo-been plays Sister Michaela, a nun full of curiosity and doubts. The film will premiere in theaters on January 24.
