Ex “I’m alone“The young Chul competitor of the season 25 (real name Park Jae-Hong, 35 years old) has been sentenced a prison sentence suspended for sexual aggression.
On September 19, the western district court of Soul sentenced Park Jae-Hong to 1 year and 6 months in prison, suspended for 3 years, on charges of almost rape. The Court also ordered him to complete 40 hours of treatment of sexual violence and forbade him to work in institutions involving children, teenagers or people with disabilities for five years.
Judge Kim Woo-Hyun explained the verdict, affirming: “The accused committed sexual intercourse despite the victim’s resistance while he was drunk. The victim suffered serious psychological trauma and suffered injuries while trying to resist.”
The accident occurred in June 2024, when Park Jae-Hong attacked a 20-year-old woman around 3:30 in the morning in a parking lot in the Hongdae area of Seoul. He was arrested on the spot and subsequently offending after the CCTV movie was ensured as proof.
While the Court recognized the severity of the crime, he considered factors such as the admission of the guilt of Park Jae-Hong, the reflection, the victim’s decision not to pursue punishment after reaching an agreement and his three months of detention before the trial.
Park Jae-Hong has obtained public recognition through ENA and SBS Plus reality shows “I’m alone“And his spin-off. Following the news of his arrest, the producers immediately issued public excuses and changed all his videos starting from the transmission of June 26.
Entire scenes have been cut involving the connections of Park Jae-Hong with the other competitors, even altering the narration of the show. In an episode in July, the spectators noticed that no final couple formed because the scenes involving his combinations have been completely removed.
Other cast members also moved away. Gwang Soo of the season 24 eliminated him from a group photo on social media, while the young soo of the season 25 jokingly commented, “I also send me that modified version, lol.”
The online reactions were hard, with the Netizen writing:
- He must have spent all his money for the settlement.
- Sex crimes always receive lighter phrases after an agreement.
- He ruined his life, just like the title of the show, he will be soloist forever.
Some also raised concerns about the victim’s position, noting: “Many victims agree to settle for fear of retaliation.”
The producers reiterated their apologies, promising a more rigorous management of the cast members both during and after filming. Since then, all VOD episodes related to Young Chul have been removed.
