GLLITs, the fandom of ILLIT, expressed their disappointment on X after P-Pop girl group BINI took the MTV EMA’s “Best Asia Act” award over K-pop group.
The 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (MTV EMA) were held in the UK on 10 November to celebrate the best music, celebrities and culture this year.
For the first time in history, Filipino girl group BINI took home the trophy for “Best Asia Act”, competing against top-tier artists from their respective countries such as ILLIT (South Korea), Mahilini (Indonesia), Masdo ( Malaysia) and Sakurazaka46. (Japan).
On X and other social media platforms, BINI supporters, BLOOMs, commemorate the special award when GLLIT ruined the joy by accusing the fandom and the group of cheating.
Notably, the award criteria were primarily based on voting, and fans of the Korean band claimed that BINI does not have the same impact as ILLIT, called their fan base “non-existent”, and implied that they cheated the system to WIN. the vote. When GLLIT started targeting BINI, BLOOM and other Filo K-pop stans defended them by showing the huge following the members and their fans have. They also have numerous hits on Spotify such as “Salamin, Salamin”, “Pantropiko”, “Karera”, “Cherry on Top” and “Lagi”, proving their popularity.
With this, Filipino fans also called on GLLIT to stop belittling how supportive and “voting monsters” they are, recalling how even UNIS Gehlee amassed 2.4 million votes to secure his spot on “Universe Ticket,” which made history for the most votes. in a Korean survival show.
