TWICE’s Momo and SNSD’s Yoona are famously good friends, but the friendship between the two began with some casual exchanges.
Momo shared an anecdote from the early stages of their relationship on the YouTube show “Hyoyeon’s Level Up.”
Hyoyeon, another Girls’ Generation member, joked that she finally had the chance to treat Momo to a meal, which reminded the TWICE member of an act of kindness that has always stuck with her.
“When I was in Korea, I went to a steak restaurant. Yoona was having lunch with the staff and we met by chance,” she recalled.
“So I said goodbye to him, and later I found out that she had already paid for her meal and left.”
After hearing the story, Hyoyeon joked, “You didn’t say hello to me and ask me to buy you food, did you?”
“It’s not like that,” Momo said, laughing.
“I just wanted to say hello, but I was grateful she bought me some food.”
Momo and Yoona have since had many meals together, including one captured on Yoona’s vlog update while she attended the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2024 show at Paris Fashion Week.
The two idols sat next to each other during the show’s dinner after-party and appeared as guests on their respective channels.
