Rapper Jvcki Wai (29, real name Hong Si-ah) has sparked controversy after claiming she was a victim of dating violence at the hands of her ex-partner, KC Label producer Vangdale (32, real name Bang Jin-woo). His statements, shared publicly, triggered an intense debate on social media and online communities.
On December 12, Jvcki Wai posted photos on Instagram showing visible injuries on her face and body, writing that she couldn’t leave her house for two weeks. The images sent shockwaves through the hip-hop scene and beyond. Responding to criticism about why she chose to post such content online, she explained that it was the only way to completely cut off contact, claiming that she had previously been prevented from leaving and had been contacted repeatedly. “He hasn’t contacted me since I posted it” he wrote, adding an apology to those who felt uncomfortable.

Soon after, Vangdale responded publicly on social media with profanity-filled posts denying the allegations and claiming that he was the one who had been assaulted. His identity became widely known as he had produced Jvcki Wai’s 2025 full-length album MOLLAK and collaborated with her earlier this year on the single Ruin U. Vangdale is a producer for the KC label, founded by rapper Sik-K, and was named Producer of the Year at the 2025 Korea Hip-hop Awards.

As the dispute escalated, Jvcki Wai released a lengthy statement on December 14. She acknowledged slapping him during an altercation, but insisted that the vast majority of the physical and verbal abuse was inflicted on her. She accused him of distorting events to paint himself as a victim, saying she felt disgusted by what she described as his attempts to rationalize his actions.
Detailing her allegations, Jvcki Wai said she was confined to a room, had her phone confiscated to prevent her from calling the police and was threatened while he broke objects in front of her. She further alleged that during one incident he pushed her to the ground, threw objects to intimidate her, attempted to retrieve a kitchen knife and later suffocated her to the point that she struggled to breathe.
He described a pattern of escalating violence, starting with throwing small objects and progressing to physical restraint. According to his account, he had once reported the situation to the police and informed a KC Label executive, expressing concern that he might not be able to continue promotions of the album. She said she remained silent publicly to avoid hurting others, and that her partner’s apology led her to reconcile, something she now deeply regrets.

Jvcki Wai also said that repeated breakup attempts were met with suicide threats, career sabotage and harassment. She described feeling increasingly isolated and said that when he appeared at her home again recently, she genuinely feared for her life. “I don’t care if I never make music again” he wrote. “I don’t care if my image is ruined. I just wanted to live and end the relationship.”
The rapper concluded by saying she was ready to face derision or disbelief, noting that her decision to speak out was driven by survival rather than public opinion.
Jvcki Wai debuted in 2016 and joined [AOMG] in 2022, where she continued her career as one of the label’s prominent female rappers. At present, the situation remains a matter of public controversy, with online opinion sharply divided and growing calls for a clearer investigation into the allegations.
