On September 30, the official Eyesmag account shared a short clip with the caption: “A man who only makes his finger hearts for his son Ye Jin … Hyun Bin, the perfect ice prince”. The video presented Hyun Bin who attended the film Premiere of the film Boss (Directed by Ra Hee-Chan) in a Soul cinema.
In the movie, Hyun Bin is seen walking on the wall of the photo when a fan has stretched the formation of half a heart with his hand. Instead of completing it, Hyun Bin instead closed the fan’s hand in a handshake.
Fans reacted with enthusiasm: “Captain Ri and Yoon Se-Ri forever”, “Hyun Bin folds hearts”, “He only does finger hearts for his son Ye Jin”, “A heart reserved for his wife” AND “This is the perfect example of a married man: absolutely no allowed fan heart.” Many praised the gesture as a sign of Hyun Bin’s unshakable affection for his wife, son Ye Jin.
The moment became even bigger when his son Ye Jin himself replied directly, dropping the emojis of a smiling face in sunglasses and a thumb up, showing his approval.
However, some claimed that Hyun Bin may not understand that the fan was asking for a heart: “He probably thought they wanted a handshake”, “It wasn’t obvious what they meant”, AND “He could have thought it was a new greeting style.”
Hyun Bin and his son Ye Jin, both born in 1982, married in 2022 and welcomed their first child later that year. Hyun Bin recently participated in the VIP premiere of No other choice (Directed by Park Chan-Wook) on September 22 at CGV Yongsan, showing support for the return to his wife’s big screen. The mutual support of the couple is well known, with Son Ye Jin who also participated in the VIP screening of the 2024 film by Hyun Bin Harbin.
