With a career spanning nearly fourteen years, Hyeri’s image has evolved quite dramatically over the years. As she has grown older, she has grown more in her features and the changes in style have had an impact on her imagery as well.
Only recently has it been speculated that Hyeri would have to have her face cosmetically retouched. During a North Korea breast cancer awareness event in 2023, Hyeri appeared with an unusual look, sporting a black minidress paired with her medium-length brown hair styled with a front bang. Hyeri’s face caught the eye of many who thought she looked a little different than usual. Thus, plastic surgery rumors began to circulate.
While the speculation eventually died down, Hyeri’s team brought it up again in a recent YouTube video. In the video, Hyeri was joined by her hair and makeup team, her PR manager, and her sister for a look at some of the most notable looks she’s rocked throughout her career.
When the photo from the W Korea event surfaced, Hyeri immediately called it her “worse.”
Hyeri and her team ironically criticized the entire look, pointing out how everything went wrong: from the lenses to the dress, to the hair.
In her defense, Hyeri explained that she had her hair, makeup, and outfit styled in different places, which made everything look out of place. She added that most of the fan comments she received that day were, “When will Hyeri find her style?
One of her staff members recalled that this look had prompted many people to wonder whether Hyeri had undergone plastic surgery.
Surprisingly, the actress acknowledged the rumors, saying: “But I also think it looked that way.”
