On October 25, NewJeans received the Frontier Award at “11th Edaily Culture Award” held at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts Grand Theater in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
THE “Edaily Culture Awards” hosted by Edaily newsletter and organized by “Kwak Jea-sun Foundation for Cultures”is an awards ceremony featuring six performance categories including theatre, classical music, dance, traditional Korean music, musicals and concerts.
During the ceremony, NewJeans member Hyein became emotional when she expressed: “We are grateful to receive such a special award at this significant event. Through this career, I have realized how many wonderful people there are around us.” He continued, holding back tears, “Personally, I believe that this profession is only possible with the help of many people, and it is a special career where we can create memories one by one with wonderful people, including our Bunnies (fandom name). I recently realized that we don’t always get to experience these special moments.”
Furthermore, Hyein shared, “We are grateful to be able to do what we love in front of people who show us so much love. The five of us didn’t know we would come together like this, but we have become special to each other and are working hard to create great performances.”
He concluded his acceptance speech by saying: “We are grateful to all the people who help us pursue what we want to do. Having received this special award, we hope to become a NewJeans that can naturally blend into people’s daily lives through our special songs.”
