K-Pop Powerhouse Hybe is destined to establish a subsidiary in India at the end of 2025, further accelerating President Bang Si-Hyuk “Multi-Home, Multi-Genre” Global Strategy. According to an official announcement of June 30, Hybe is currently leading market research and prepare for the legal launch of his office in India, targeting a launch between September and October.
This move aims to draw on the Indian population of 1.4 billion, one of the largest unused audiences in the world, applying the K-Pop production, training and marketing model to the local music scene.
What is the “multi-casa, multi-genre” strategy?
Conta from Bang Si-Hyuk, this strategy involves the creation of physical bases (“houses”) in the main global markets and adapting the tested K-pop system of Hybe on multiple local genres and cultural contexts. “To survive, we must export the K-Pop business model, not just music”, Bang repeatedly underlined.
In fact, this vision is already showing results in the main musical markets as follows:
- In the United States, Hybe’s Girl Group KatseyeDeveloped through the rigorous K-Pop internship system, he made his debut on Billboard hot 100 within their first year.
- In Latin America, Hybe has launched joint auditions with the largest Mexico Transmission Station Telemundo via selection show band “Path to hunger” (Pase a La Fama) and plans to debut a group of Latin boys using k-pop-style training and management. The label has even acquired music in exile to strengthen its South American support point.
- In Japan, Hybe Japan’s S & Team (now YX Labels) has reached the status of Triple Platino with their third single, while New Boy Group “Aoen” At the top of the Oricon rankings immediately after its debut through a television audition show.
Why does India now?
The expansion of Hybe’s India is seen as a bold move to ensure in advance a presence in one of the faster growth markets in the world. With the global influence of Bollywood and a flourishing youth population that consumes more and more k-pop, the times are ideal.
Just as Hybe has transformed the US market with its acquisition of Ithaca Holdings (headquarters of Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber) and partnership with universal music and QC Media Holdings, the company seems ready to replicate this growth model led by infrastructure in India.
In its expansion, said Hybe, “K-pop should not only mean music as a kind of pop, but should become a methodology that carefully identifies the tastes of the public and creates super IP based on super fan. This is the usual opinion of President Bang”. adding, “The strategy of guaranteeing a point of support in the main musical markets in the world and the application of this methodology is producing results and, if the current trend continues, the panorama of the world music market dominated by the Big 3 global companies will change significantly.”
With India on the horizon, Hybe is not only exporting music, but rather exports an ecosystem. And in doing so, it could redefine the future of global entertainment.
