HYBE is facing intense criticism from fans and the general public after revealing ticket prices for the highly anticipated BTS World Tour, which kicks off in April 2026.
While the excitement over BTS’ return to the global stage is undeniable, the price of tickets has sparked a significant backlash. For the opening shows in Goyang, South Korea, tickets cost ₩264,000 (about $180) for the Soundcheck package, ₩220,000 ($150) for General R and ₩198,000 ($135) for General S.

In Japan, prices are even higher, with VIP seats going for ¥45,000 (about $285), SS seats at ¥35,000 ($220), and S seats at ¥25,000 ($160).
Soon after the pricing details were published, online forums and social media were flooded with criticism, with many calling the prices “excessive” and “lacking basic business ethics.” Comments ranged from frustration over affordability to disbelief that the tour would still sell out despite the high costs.

Some of the reactions included:
- “Ticket prices are officially out of control.”
- “This is just greedy, where is the ethical line?”
- “So expensive! But let’s be honest, it’ll probably sell out anyway.”
- “HYBE has officially lost contact.”
- “It’s expensive, but if the stage is truly 360°, it might be worth it.”
- “Honestly, this crosses the line.”
- “Even as a fan, I think this is unreasonable.”
- “Why are people defending HYBE? This makes no sense. Lower prices would benefit everyone.”
While some have defended the price, citing potentially high production value and an immersive stage experience, the overwhelming consensus online is one of disappointment and frustration. As fans await the tour with anticipation, HYBE may now have to contend with growing discontent surrounding what many see as exploitative pricing strategies.
