On October 7, 2024, Korean media recently reported this fromis_9‘S Jiwon has been seen with celebrities Jeon Hyun Moo al 2NE1 reunion concert on the weekend of 5 and 6 October 2024. TenAsia noted that a reporter at the event remarked that the two seemed quite friendly during the concert. The TenAsia article raised suspicions that they had been on a date, ending with a statement from Pledis Entertainment denying it.
Of course, netizens didn’t completely believe the possibility of Jiwon and Jeon Hyun Moo dating. They did some investigation and realized that the journalist had consistently written negative articles in the press New Jeans AND Min Hee Jin. This led netizens to believe that HYBE had used Jiwon as a shield, given the recent spate of bad press for HYBE. They accused HYBE of distracting the public with a media plot about Jiwon followed by a quick denial.
