On the October 16 episode of the YouTube web variety show Pinggyegohosted on the DdeunDdeun channel, Hwasa appeared as a guest alongside 2PM’s Jang Woo Young, drawing attention with her sleek new bob hairstyle.
When Jang Woo Young complimented her look, saying: “That hairstyle looks really good on you” Hwasa replied: “It’s been about four years since I’ve had short hair.” Host Yoo Jae Suk then asked her if she had changed it to fit the concept of her new song. Hwasa explained: “Yes, that’s part of the problem, but honestly, the long hair was starting to feel suffocating. I’ve had it for too long, so I just wanted to cut it all off. I also wanted to cut it short like Woo Young’s, but my hairdresser was very against it.”
Jang Woo Young agrees, noting this “a sudden change may seem awkward for people to see”, while Hwasa revealed that her stylist had a more practical concern “He said it would be too difficult to model.” Yoo Jae Suk jokingly added, “Sometimes it’s less about what looks good and more about what’s easier to manage.”
During the conversation, Hwasa also jokingly mentioned Yoo Jae Suk’s signature hairstyle, saying: “You’ve kept that same look forever.” Yoo Jae Suk responded with a laugh, “You know, Hwasa doesn’t attack hard but his comments persist.”
