Actor Hwang In-yeop, known for constantly challenging himself to show new sides, has demonstrated his boundless potential with his deep and emotional acting in his latest project. He shared his aspirations to explore and take on new challenges in the future, leaving fans eagerly anticipating his next steps.
Reflecting on the success of his latest K-drama, “Family by Choice,” Hwang In-yeop shared, “OOn the last day, the director and cast gathered to watch while enjoying delicious food. I am so satisfied and happy. I didn’t expect so much love, but it’s great to know that our happiness on set translated well to the audience.
He recalled the emotional farewell, saying: “Filming ended in July, but memories of the scenes continued to resurface like a panorama. Baek Hyun-sung, Jung Chae-yeon, and I hugged each other and cried. It felt so short, like they only aired eight episodes instead of 16. We even joked about a second season. It was bittersweet, but we were so grateful for the love the drama received.
Since “Family by Choice” is an adaptation of the famous Chinese drama “Go Ahead”, Hwang In-yeop admitted“We all felt the pressure, from the director to the cast, knowing the strong reputation of the original. We focused on infusing a Korean sensibility and creating a unique chemistry that was authentic to our story.”
The effort paid off, as the chemistry between Hwang In-yeop, Baek Hyun-sung, and Jung Chae-yeon emerged. In fact, Hwang In-yeop and Jung Chae-yeon’s on-screen romance has sparked dating rumors.
Speaking about their dynamic, Hwang said, “At first all three of us were shy, careful to respect boundaries. To break the ice, I started conversations, but in the end it was a mutual effort. They approached me too and that brought us closer together. It was rewarding to see how much people appreciated our chemistry.”
He also commented, “Since I was close to Jung Chae-yeon, we were able to come up with more ideas. I realized we had such great chemistry, so much so that dating rumors even started. Although there was a lot of laughter as we aimed to portray good chemistry and romance, we got seriously close. Even during the kissing scene, coordination was important. The staff also created a great atmosphere on set, which added a sense of nervousness and excitement.”
Finally, Hwang In-yeop revealed his future plans, further exciting fans.
“I’m getting ready to show a revamped version of myself. Whether it’s my physical appearance or character portrayal, my goal is to bring something new. This is my role as an actor”he said.
