On December 22, Jennie’s agency OA Entertainment (ODDATELIER) revealed behind-the-scenes details of its MMA 2025 stage, which took place on December 20 at the Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. Jennie won three awards that night, including the prestigious Record of the Year, while delivering a solo performance that filled the venue with powerful storytelling rooted in Korean beauty.
Its stage unfolded as a three-part story through “Seoul City,” “ZEN,” and “like JENNIE,” each representing a journey from the outer world to the inner self, ultimately arriving at a fully realized identity.
Jennie opened with “Seoul City,” appearing under a huge veil dominated by the blue of the Korean flag. The images symbolized the comfort and familiarity found among the noises and lights of the city. The performance then transitioned into “ZEN,” expressing inner balance and focus beyond the urban chaos. The finale, “Like JENNIE,” represented coming into her authentic self, solidifying her artistic identity.
One of the highlights was her stage wardrobe, designed by Korean brand LEJE, who previously collaborated with Jennie on the “ZEN” music video. The outfits reinterpreted traditional Korean elements through a modern lens.
For “Seoul City”, the huge veil contained lyrics from Cheonggu Yeongeon, the earliest known Korean anthology of song lyrics. Jennie and her dancers wore dresses inspired by traditional jeogori silhouettes, evoking strength and elegance. According to LEJE, the structured shoulder lines took inspiration from the semi-seated Bodhisattva, complemented by hand-tied norigae knots that conveyed a quiet yet purposeful beauty.
In “like JENNIE,” the costume blended traditional dongjeong and goreum details with the structure of a Western corset, creating tension and dimensionality in the silhouette. The trousers incorporated ink drawing techniques depicting traditional crafts such as norigae and silver knives, while raw silk daenggi knots added volume and symbolism.

The dress Jennie wore while accepting Record of the Year was inspired by the balanced proportions of the Bulguksa Seokgatap Pagoda. Hand-draped cutout details form a refined yet dynamic silhouette, embodying understated elegance. The dancers’ outfits, reminiscent of Inwang guardian figures, modernized the traditional sapok, jeogori, and haengjeon pants to create a protective visual presence around Jennie.
OA Entertainment noted, “Through this stage infused with Korean elements, Jennie once again expressed her love and pride for Korea.”
Jennie’s impact in 2025 extends far beyond MMA. His first solo album, Ruby, performed well on the national and global charts, earning critical acclaim for its artistic completeness. She has also appeared on major international stages, including the 2025 Met Gala and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, reinforcing her status as a global icon bridging Korean heritage and contemporary pop culture.
