Speaking with PTI, a local eyewitness told the terrifying moment when the accident occurred.
“I was at home when I heard a strong and unprecedented noise”, he said. “We rushed out and we saw a dense smoke fill the air. When we reached the place of the accident, there were bodies and pieces of the plane scattered everywhere.”

According to the initial relationships, the flight, Indian water AI171, took off at 13:39 local time, headed to Gatwick airport in London. A few minutes from the flight, the plane issued an emergency signal of Mayday to air traffic control before crashing tragically.
Among the 242 people on board were 169 Indian citizens, 53 British citizens, one Canadian and seven Portuguese citizens. Starting now, the authorities have not confirmed the number of victims.
The emergencies response teams have been distributed on the site and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident. The nation awaits further updates while families and communities are preparing for the excruciating news.
