Hong Seok Cheon, who famously came out as South Korea’s first openly gay celebrity, shared emotional and witty comments while previewing the latest episode of Immortal songs airing March 28.
The actor revealed that he had already met his future son-in-law after his adopted daughter, who grew up after adopting his granddaughter, decided to get married. “At first she didn’t believe in marriage, so I wasn’t preparing anything. But she said she met a good man, and after meeting him in person, I thought it was a good match.” he said, expressing warm paternal pride.
However, the atmosphere quickly became lighthearted when he added his signature humor. “Luckily, it’s not my style” Hong joked, referring to his sexual orientation. The unexpected comment reportedly caused laughter on set, with others quick to react to his bold remark.
Despite the playful tone, Hong Seok Cheon’s words highlighted his deep affection and support for his daughter. Having raised his sister’s children as his own, he has long been admired for his devotion to family. The episode will see Hong Seok Cheon perform Ailee’s “I Will Show You” alongside a group of artists hand-picked by him, promising a vibrant stage.
He also humorously admitted to some concern about how his future in-laws might react after watching the show, adding an extra layer of charm to his appearance. As always, Hong Seok Cheon balanced sincerity with humor, turning a personal milestone into a memorable television moment.
