According to an exclusive report from IZE on February 23, the Chancellor was arrested in the early hours of the day at a hotel in the city of Nagoya, Japan. He was taken into custody by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department on suspicion of violating Japan’s Narcotics Control Law. Three acquaintances would have been arrested together with him.

He is also affiliated with XGALX, the company behind girl group XG.
Previously, news broke that Simon, former member of boy group Dalmatian and current producer of Japanese girl group XG, had been urgently arrested in Japan for alleged drug possession. It has now been confirmed that the Chancellor was one of the people arrested at the scene along with Simon.
According to TBS, police had received an anonymous tip regarding suspected cocaine and marijuana use and had been conducting an internal investigation for about a year. The arrest reportedly occurred at a hotel in Nagoya, where XG was holding a concert.
Fuji TV also reported that after attending XG’s tour show on the night of February 22, people were subjected to a police search of their hotel room. Authorities reportedly seized four packages of cocaine and one package of dried marijuana.
In addition to Chancellor and Simon, two employees of the main Japanese entertainment agency Avex were also arrested on the spot.
Chancellor, who was selected as the first Korean singer for the Grammy “Reimagined” series, married a younger flight attendant in 2022 and welcomed a daughter last year.
No official statement has been released from the Chancellor’s agency regarding the arrest at this time.
