On January 11, 2025 (KST), KBS aired the “2024 KBS Drama Awards” (held privately and pre-recorded in mourning the tragic Jeju Air plane crash).
From a 90-year-old veteran actor who won his top award for the first time since his debut to a controversial actor who publicly apologized for his past, the “KBS Drama Awards 2024” was full of celebration and reflection, honoring the amazing 2024 productions and talents!

Award for best young actor
Actors Moon Seong Hyun AND Lee Seol Ah For Beauty and Mr. Romantic took home the “Best Young Actor” award.
Rookie Award
Actors Seo Beom Joon (Seo Bum June), Park Sang name, Hong Ye JiAND Han Soo Ah they were all celebrated for being new faces leading the K-Drama business in 2025!
Special Drama Award
KBS’ “Drama Special” is a program with short K-Drama episodes, dedicated to discovering new writers, producers and actors. From the lively list of 2024 drama specials, actors For Da Reum AND Oh yes, Joe took home the “Drama Special” award.
Best screenwriter award
Screenwriter Seo Sook Hyangthe mastermind behind KBS’s on-air K-Drama Iron Familywon the 2024 “Best Screenwriter” award.
Award for Best Supporting Actor
Actors Kim Yong-Gun, Yoon Yoo, sunshineand CHi Tae Joon took home the award for “Best Supporting Actor” for their irreplaceable presence in KBS’s beloved K-Dramas, Iron family, the dog knows everythingAND Beauty and Mr. Romantic.
Popularity Award
An award celebrating the year’s most adored actors, the ‘Popularity’ award went home with an idol-turned-actor INFINITE‘S the (OR Kim Myung Soo) and actress Keum Sae Rok.
Best Couple Award
For 2024, KBS celebrated “couples” of all shapes! Beauty and Mr. Romantic leads Ji Hyun Woo AND I’m Soo Hyangtogether with Iron Family leads Kim Jung Hyun and Keum Sae Rok, as well as the supporting trio Shin Hyun Joo, Kim Hye EunAND Ji Young Parkthey have been awarded for their convincing chemistries.

Actor-turned-idol Yeonwoo Jihoon Parkand actress Han Ji Hyeon have received “Excellence” awards for their KBS K-Dramas.
Maximum Excellence Award
To celebrate another successful year that brought big laughs and tears to viewers, KBS honored four “Top Excellence” award winners. Actors Kim Jung Hyun and Park Ji Young for Iron Family together with actors Ji Hyun Woo and Im Soo Hyang Beauty and Mr. Romantic they took home the trophies from the “2024 KBS Drama Awards”.
Daesang Grand Prix
Actor Lee Soon Jae, a 90-year-old industry veteran who debuted in 1956, received his first “Drama Award” Daesang with its reliable portrayal of a man starting to understand his dog, Sophie The dog knows everything.
