NewJeans have often stood out among the current K-pop generation with their Y2K fashion, one of the factors that have shaped their unique identity in the music scene. However, the group’s recent style has sparked a debate online.

On October 25, Korean netizens opened a thread in the community, titled “NewJeans’ sense of style has become bad since they changed the CEO of ADOR.”

The headline referred to the resignation of Min Hee Jin, who had previously served as CEO of ADOR. Min Hee Jin also oversees the creative production of NewJeans in terms of concepts, aesthetics and more.

In the post, OP uploaded two photos of NewJeans members posing at the 11th EDaily Culture Awards. The author expressed frustration by saying, “What is this?”, highlighting the members’ sense of style during the occasion.

One netizen even commented: “NewJeans coordinates have been crap for a long time.”

However, some fans have argued that the members have always dressed in a certain style and that there has been no instance where their fashion has been deemed “bad”.

  • “But back then they always dressed like that.”
  • “Since then they continue to get attention for their sense of style, and the comments were made on purpose to hate on their fans.”
  • “What do the claims that they’re bad mean? ADOR has done this maybe once or twice, but since when was NewJeans style bad?”
