On December 3, tvN revealed part of its 2025 schedule through an official press release.
2025 drama schedule
Theatrical offerings include:
• “When the stars gossip”, with Lee Min-ho, Gong Hyo-jin and Oh Jung-se.
• “Seocho District”, with Lee Jong-suk and Moon Ga-young in a legal drama set in a law firm.
• “Boss Typhoon”, an IMF-era period piece starring Lee Jun-ho and Geum Sae-rok.
Variety program 2025
The variety program includes returning seasons of popular shows such as “Earth Arcade”, “Fresh from the sea”, AND “The Paik Business Genius.” Spin-offs like “GBRB: You Reap What You Sow” (Red kidney bean) have been reinvented with a new title: “Kongkongbapbap“. Other highlights include:
• Chef Edward Lee travels to Korea with his daughter, exploring seasonal ingredients.
• A new collaboration between Yoo Jae-suk and PD Jung Cheol-min, creators of “Apartment 404.”
• A variety show about PD Yang Jung-woo’s travel knowledge, known for “The dictionary of useless knowledge” series.
Notably missing: “One day, the wise life of residents”
However, “Resident Playlist”– originally scheduled for release in May 2024 – was absent from the lineup.
The drama, which had sparked excitement with photos of Go Youn-jung in a doctor’s coat, has been postponed to a later date. The delay stems from the fallout from a nationwide strike by resident doctors earlier this year, which delayed its publication by more than 10 months.
Opinions on the issue were divided. Some netizens support this “It’s just a drama” and the delay is unnecessary, while others criticize the show for supposedly glorifying the medical profession amid ongoing controversies over residents’ working conditions. Responding cautiously, tvN announced in May that the show’s schedule remained undecided.
About “Wise Living as a Resident”
The series depicts realistic hospital life and friendships between university hospital professors and medical residents. Created by Shin Won-ho and Lee Woo-jung, with writer Kim Song-hee and director Lee Min-soo at the helm of the production, the cast includes Go Youn-jung, Shin Si-a, Kang Yoo-seok, Han Ye-ji, Jung Joon-won and Lee Bong-ryun.
