Has BLACKPINK’s Lisa “normalized” short outfits for female idols?

Recently, TWICE’s Sana attracted attention with her fancam “Strategy” on the December 6th episode of Korean music show “Music Bank.”

In particular, the female idol wore a gray dress with fur details and a huge cutout on the back, which revealed her sexy figure. However, due to the dress being too short and TWICE’s “Strategy” choreography incorporating a lot of large leg movements, the dress constantly rides up, exposing the safety shorts underneath. Eventually, “Music Bank” deleted the fancam as complaints about the outfits mounted.

Interestingly, however, the criticism at the time was not aimed at Sana, but only at her clothing. On top of that, the reactions towards Sana’s outfit were much less severe than those directed at BLACKPINK’s Lisa, who had been criticized for the same reason in the past.

To be more specific, back in the day, Lisa received a lot of harsh comments about her extremely short dresses, some of which severely shamed the female idol. The situation even worsened following Lisa’s “striptease” show in the infamous cabaret club “Crazy Horse Paris”.

In the case of Sana and many different idols, however, most of the blame falls on the stylists, and the criticism wasn’t heavy in the first place.

The difference in the level of toughness has caused different reactions among netizens, with some even speculating that Lisa has “normalized” short dresses for female idols.
