On December 18, the press conference of tvN’s Sat-Sun drama “When the Stars Gossip” took place at The Saint Hotel, Sindorim, Seoul. Lee Min-ho, Gong Hyo-jin, Oh Jung-se, Han Ji-eum and director Park Shin-woo attended the event.
“When the Stars Gossip” is a drama about the life of Boss Eve (Gong Hyo-jin), who works in a space station, and the unwanted space tourist Gong Ryong (Lee Min-ho), who has a secret mission, in a place off Earth. Raising expectations as the first Korean space drama, “When the Stars Gossip” will depict the normal daily lives of office workers after arriving on a space station.
Regarding the production process of “When the Stars Gossip,” a large project with a space setting that cost 50 billion won, director Park explained, “I was a little worried but instead of being afraid or feeling burdened, I thought I would just do it and enjoy the process,” adding “It cost a lot and took a long time to produce. The production period of this project was in fact 5 times longer than that of other works. They could have made 3 dramas in that period.”
Regarding his collaboration with Gong Hyo-jin, Lee Min-ho shared: “She is a senior actress who I really respect. I think I met her later than I expected,” adding “Working with her was a great experience for me.” In response to Lee Min-ho’s comment, Gong Hyo-jin raised her voice, saying “From!”, causing laughter.
Lee Min-ho then continued, “I really appreciate the opportunity to work with her on the same project, to be able to make eye contact with her and act together in a place without gravity.” Gong Hyo-jin added, “I heard some rumors and thought he was an actor who wouldn’t be serious about work. I haven’t seen many people close to Min-ho. I thought he might be the same as what he portrays in fiction, but it turned out that he is a person who is very careful about what he says and does.”
Regarding the comment about their close friendship after filming the drama, Gong Hyo-jin said, “He has the image of a younger brother who doesn’t listen to his older sister”. Hearing this, Lee Min-ho replied, “I wish you would stop tormenting me”, making everyone burst into laughter. Park Kyung-rim tried to stop the bickering between the two, then Gong Hyo-jin commented, “Such a reliable partner.”
“When the Gossip of the Stars” will air its first episode on January 4th at 9.20 pm.
