On January 19, the second episode of ENA’s survival program for cover influencers, “Undercover,” aired. Here, the heartbreaking stories of former girl group members were revealed.
In particular, Seoryoung, a former member of the disbanded girl group GWSN, recalled her horrible experience before going on stage.
“I debuted in 2018, but due to the agency’s mismanagement we were essentially neglected, until we were disbanded.” he said, bringing viewers to tears.
Hearing this, former IZ*ONE member Kwon Eunbi, who also experienced the disbandment of his own group, empathized with Seoryoung, saying: “I know exactly how it feels.”
Another performance followed, featuring Yechan, who debuted twice with Awe5ome Baby in 2015 and Pink Fantasy in 2018. Kwon Eunbi, who was active at the same time, revealed that she knows both groups.
In his segment, Yechan revealed the harsh reality of earning zero in seven years of business. To make ends meet, he has worked at various jobs, including delivery services and factories, and currently balances his music career with a part-time job at a barbecue restaurant.
Later, Yechan moved Kwon Eunbi and her contestants to tears with his soulful rendition of HYNN’s “The Lonely Bloom Stands Alone.”
On the other hand, ENA’s “Undercover” is a survival musical variety show that pits top cover influencers against each other, reinterpreting original songs to create new musical trends. Since its premiere on January 12, the show has entered the “Top 10” on major OTT platforms.
