They confirmed the news and apologized to fans.
A girl group found themselves in trouble before their official debut. Although police have not made the group’s name public, the group has now confirmed media reports.
CiON is a Japanese girl group that currently consists of five idol musicians: Shion (voice), Kinui Aika (voice), Ishihara How (alto saxophone), The wall (euphonium/bass trumpet), e Love (piano). Although the group has existed in various forms since 2016, it was renamed CiON on October 1 after receiving feedback that the previous group’s name, WITHwas difficult to search for on X. The current lineup was set to release their debut single, “Shimasho,” as CiON on Christmas Day.
Now CiON has announced that it will suspend operations. This includes canceling scheduled events and releases. The group’s members were accused, along with the president of their agency and four other people, of holding a street performance in a Tokyo square without the necessary permits, violating Japanese traffic law.
On their official website, CiON confirmed media reports, apologized for performing in the square without permission and expressed regret to their fans, who will now receive a refund.
