(G)I-DLE’s Yuqi appeared as a guest on TT Studio’s variety show Introduction to physiognomy on January 9, where she revealed why she stayed in South Korea instead of returning to China.
“Yuqi needs to feel stable in her relationship and is likely to choose to continue branching out into a stable place,” the fortune teller said.
“That’s why I renewed my contract,” the idol responded in the interview.

Hearing this, comedian Uhm Ji Yoon, who was also present in the studio, tried to delve deeper into the topic. She expressed curiosity regarding the factors Yuqi considered for her to stay in a foreign country to promote with a group that has growing competition, despite the fact that China is a larger market for expanding her solo career.
“Honestly, if I just wanted to make (more) money, I would have already gone there,” the idol responded honestly.
But rather than monetary gain, the “Tomboy” singer recalled the time she fought hard with her family to pursue what she loves in Korea — and that is becoming a K-pop star.
